During the year, Green Cargo has

- Appointed Mikael Stöhr the new President and CEO. He will begin in April 2010.
- Put the first of the modernised Td diesel locomotives into operation. The delivery of the first re-built locomotives occurred at the end of the year and the modernisation of our electric and diesel locomotives will continue during 2010.
- Awarded 25 Green Cargo Climate Certificates to customers whose transport solutions meet strict environmental requirements. Coop was also named Climate Comet of the Year following its decision to transfer a large portion of its long haul freight transports from road to rail to decrease its impact on the environment.
- Signed more new customer agreements than any year previously, despite the weak economy. Our Rail operations signed new or extended contracts with Outokumpu Stainless, Volvo Logistics, Trätåg and Svenska Shell.
- Served as one of the main partners for the global transport trade fair, ITS – Intelligent Transportation Systems, which was held at Stockholm International Fairs in September. For the first time, freight transports and logistics were given a spot in this world congress, which moves around to the different regions of the world.
- Continued to post growth within third-party logistics. Net sales for Logistics increased by 15 percent and new agreements were signed with several customers within the Books & Media, Alcohol and Food segments. The capacity in our logistics terminals was expanded by an additional 50,000 square meters in 2009.
- Achieved a record-high result for traffic safety and for the third consecutive year had 95 percent punctuality for wagon transports via rail.
- Joined the "Future Rail Sweden" initiative to support its efforts to advocate investments in the Swedish rail system.
