Flexibility for steel
The agreement with Outokumpu emerged in the middle of the financial crisis and resulted in a turn-key solution that is built on a long-term perspective. Outokumpu wanted a rail solution with considerable flexibility, which entailed frequent departures even when volumes were low and the possibility to grow as demand rose. Green Cargo's new transport solution is described as a foundation that can be used to expand.
"We would like to see that our co-operation with Green Cargo grows, not just by increasing the number of wagons but also by introducing new flows," says Lars-Erik Renström, Manager - Corporate Logistics & Transportation at Outokumpu.
Green Cargo transports are an integral component in Outokumpu's transport system, Eurolink, which stretches from Torneå in northern Finland via Swedish units to Sheffield, England, and Gent, Belgium.
Green Cargo's national transports are an approved Good Environmental Choice
